Consignment Licensing
Consignment Licensing allows users to utilize InterComm Expert beyond the traditional “floating” and “node locked” scenarios by:
- Allowing a Permanent User with a floating license to use InterComm Expert off the network (ex: working away from the office)
- Lending an InterComm Expert license to any user outside of the company for a specific time period (ex: enabling vendors and/or customers to browse design data with InterComm Expert even if they do not own InterComm Expert licenses)
To request a Consignment License:
1. Obtain login information for a Permanent or Temporary User
account
2. Run InterComm Expert
3a. Select menu option for Community > Consignment Licensing…, or
3b. Select tab Consignment Licensing in the License Location dialog box
3. Follow the instructions
For Permanent Users, the resulting license is installed automatically. When it expires, the previous floating license is invoked automatically.
For Temporary Users, the resulting license file is delivered via
email. When it expires, InterComm Expert stops functioning. To register licenses delivered via
email:
1. Run InterComm Expert
2. Select tab Local in the License Location dialog box
3. Use the Browse button to select the licensing file
4. Click Done button
